The event
37 years of fee standstill - and no end in sight: The scale of fees for dentists (GOZ) is an eternal nuisance for dentists because it does not reflect modern dentistry and the point value has been frozen for decades. All calls for an adjustment have so far come to nothing, so dentists have to make the best of what is available. This applies to both dentistry and billing, as dental care offers a great deal of leeway - including when billing services in accordance with the GOZ. Using the GOZ correctly does not mean arbitrarily juggling with billing figures, but rather using the possibilities of incremental rates and analogue billing correctly, reaching agreements with patients and keeping a close eye on the figures - even if it is annoying. Because those who master the GOZ do not give away any fees. And those who manage their practice economically will secure the patient care of the future. In the IDS Speaker's Corner, the Vice President of the German Dental Association, Dr Romy Ermler, and the Federal Chairman of the FVDZ, Dr Christian Öttl, talk about the possibilities of skilful GOZ application.
