New resin with shape memory: 3D printed aligners as effective as thermoformed

Until now, 3D-printed aligners have shown significant differences in thermomechanical behavior compared to thermoformed aligners, which limits their treatment effectiveness. The properties of the new resin from Luxinergy are much closer to those of the tried-and-tested thermoformed aligners and also offers a shape memory effect. This allows the aligner to be “reset” multiple times, paving the way for more precise and effective treatment results than can be achieved with conventional thermoformed aligners.
