When wood carver Henning Eklund went to his dentist one day in 1965, he didn't know what life-changing journey he was about to embark on. During a casual conversation between the two, the idea of creating a triangular-shaped dental stick came to life – TePe's very first product. Henning teamed up with two professors at the Faculty of Odontology at Malmö University to refine the idea. Not much later, TePe launched the triangular wooden dental stick. It was a tiny object that made a huge difference in oral care back then, since it was shaped to fit the space between the teeth better. Life is truly amazing, tiny decisions, like going to the dentist, can have hugely important consequences. It is also a testament to the power of collaboration.??
60 years of successful collaboration??
For six decades, we have worked side by side with dental professionals to find new solutions within oral care, to promote healthier smiles for people all over the world. As we acknowledge this important milestone, we want to say thank you for 60 years of successful collaboration. Not only have we worked together to create new products, like toothbrushes and interdental brushes, but we have also joined forces to raise awareness about the importance of daily oral care, interdental cleaning, and prevention. At TePe, we believe that prevention is key to maintaining long-term oral health.???
Supporting the Eklund Foundation??
When TePe turned 50 in 2015, The Eklund Foundation was founded. This aligns with the Eklund family's vision of good oral health for all and is a way to ensure contributions to knowledge and development in the field of dentistry for many years to come. Additionally, it shows appreciation to the people who dedicate their lives to improving oral health and, consequently, general health. Every year since 2016, the Eklund Foundation has distributed up to EUR 250,000 to high-quality projects in odontology. The foundation welcomes experimental and clinical studies in all fields of dentistry.?
