Filling Instruments

Dental filling instruments are essential tools used by dentists to place and shape restorative materials into prepared cavities in teeth. These instruments are designed to manipulate various filling materials, such as amalgam, composite resin, or glass ionomer, to restore the tooth's function, health, and aesthetics.  

 
Most common types of dental filling instruments:

Condensers/Pluggers: Used to pack and condense filling material into the prepared cavity. Different sizes and shapes are available for various filling materials and cavity sizes.    
Carvers: Used to shape and contour the filling material to restore the tooth's natural anatomy. Different carvers are designed for specific tooth surfaces and filling materials.    
Burnishers: Used to smooth and polish the surface of the filling, creating a natural-looking finish and improving the longevity of the restoration.
Plastic Instruments: Made from non-stick materials, these instruments are used to place and shape composite resin without the material sticking to the instrument.    
Amalgam Carriers: Used to carry and place amalgam filling material into the prepared cavity.    
Spatulas: Used to mix and manipulate dental cements and other restorative materials.
Packers: Used to condense and adapt filling materials into the prepared cavity, especially in Class II restorations.
