Miele has been committed to the environment since the company began in 1899. As the Professional business unit, we’ve always strived to ensure that we manufacture in a sustainable way, that our products have a minimal impact on the planet and that we focus on reducing waste.
What have we pledged and how will it help you and the planet?
Pledge 1: Make sustainability happen at every step
We continuously work towards making sustainability essential at every stage of our services and our products’ life cycle – as well as in all of our value chains, and in the homes and businesses of our customers.
Miele medical machines are made of high-quality materials, making them an essential part of dental practices for many years to come. They are tested for a life of at least 15,000 operating hours and spare parts are available for 15 years after a machine series has been discontinued. Customers also benefit from Miele's own comprehensively trained service department.
Pledge 2: Make machines that won’t leave a mark
Miele is dedicated to producing the best possible products and services with the least impact on the environment, with the ultimate aim to make them 100% carbon-neutral.
Pledge 3: End waste by giving our machines new life
We are working towards creating a circular value chain with net-zero waste for all materials used in our machines to re-enter the loop at the end of their lifecycle.
Our sustainable solutions for your dental practice:
• Improved steam condenser technology in the PG85 Series contributes to 40% less water compared to machines without this technology.
• Our thermal disinfectors comply with local directive requirements and have thermal disinfection capabilities to ensure the required high level of hygiene.
• Sterilisers only need a first maintenance after 5 years or 4,000 operating hours.
