SCHWERT – A BYWORD FOR QUALITY AND CONFIDENCE For 125 years, we have been delivering “Made in Germany” quality
Committed to tradition. For 125 years, we have been producing and distributing instruments for periodontology, implantology, oral surgery, prosthetics and orthodontics under the globally recognised brand name SCHWERT.
Innovation, reliability, quality, service, customer orientation and our open communication are attributes which our often decade-long customers certify us, as a basis for our successful cooperation.
In the Tuttlingen region we can rely on an enormous wealth of experience of skilled workers. The quality of SCHWERT instruments is consistently advanced through continuous further training in all manufacturing techniques and the training of young, motivated employees.
Supplemented by continuous modernization and investment into the production facilities is an optimal implementation of our know-how is guaranteed.
The fulfilment of regulatory requirements is a matter of course.

P-LUX and P-LUX Periotomes
The new P-LUX are the modern, universal and complete extraction instrument series in one tray. The new handle design is highly ergonomic and prevents unintended slipping during the usage. It also guarantees a direct and controlled power transmission to prevent from tooth and root fractures. All instruments are perfectly suited for a non-traumatic tooth extraction without injuring surrounding structures. The color coding ensures a fast and easy handling.
Cutting of sharpey‘s fibres with the new SCHWERT P-LUX periotome. To accomplish an atraumatic extraction the Sharpey‘s fibres should be separated by using a periotome primary to the use of extraction forceps or elevators. Therefore the Periotome is driven thru the sulcus. The proper use prevents the surrounding gingiva and the periost. The SCHWERT P-LUX handle design secures a safe and tactile handling. The blade of this periotome has to be highlighted specially – the blade is flexible and adapts perfectly to root structures, simultaneously due to its high stability it is possible to gain a certain pressure. This is possible by choosing a special medical stainless steel and hardening treatment.
The daily risk of injuries by mounting and especially dismounting of blades is not avoidable by standard blade holders. With the new SCHWERT SAFE-EX an innovation was developed that changes the daily routine eminently. The integrated function that works like a regular ball pen reduces the risk of an injury to a minimum. The blade is ejected from the SAFE-EX just by pushing the button on the distal end. The practice staff, especially during the re-processing, is safe from infections caused by unintended cuts.
TAC-TRACTION Extraction Forceps
SCHWERT TAC-Traction extraction forceps allow a balanced luxation, combined with an amazing tactile feeling, due to approx. 25% weight saving. Smooth going and ergonomic handles, allow left- and right-handed people an individual positioning. Beside that they offer steady power transmission on the tooth. SCHWERT TAC-Traction extraction forceps are as regular figures available or as deep gripping figures. Both variants are also with a diamond coating available for an optimal grip.
TWIST Micro needleholders
SCHWERT micro needle holders are manufactured on cnc lathes as opposed to conventionally forged raw material. As a result, lighter and more precise working ends with a high repeatability can be produced.
Equipped with a ground TC insert, the needle is held securely and threads are not damaged.
The twisted joint reliably avoids annoying thread entanglement during knotting, thus contributing to safer and faster seam production.
The needle holders are available in straight or curved versions. For practitioners who are not so comfortable with the very light Castroviejo version, there are also models in a somewhat heavier version in addition to this variant, which have all the above-mentioned attributes in the working end.

The satin finished surface protects against glare. The design of the handles is similar to our micro scissors, micro needle holders and raspatories. This allows the practitioner to put together a microsurgery tray that is suitable for all common surgical procedures. Thus, the surgeon quickly gets a reliable feeling for the tactile use of the SCHWERT micro instruments in his challenging work.
The SCHWERT micro forceps are available as surgical forceps 1x2 teeth with thread plate, as anatomical forceps with thread plate or as atraumatic soft tissue forceps with Cooley teeth in straight and curved versions. The range is round up by a micro ring suture forceps.
SCHWERT micro scissors are produced on cnc lathes, as opposed to conventionally forged raw material. As a result, lighter and more precise working ends with high repeatability can be produced. Available in three different versions, they leave nothing to be desired for the surgeon, depending on his or her individual preferences.
The satin finished surface protects against glare. The new SCHWERT design allows safe guidance and navigation of the instrument, especially when using magnification such as magnifying glasses or the surgical microscope. Available as a standard version with microserrations on one side of the blade, these scissors are ideally suited for soft tissue as well as suture removal. The more delicate scissors, available in two gradations, are extremely popular for soft tissue surgery in the esthetic zones.
Color Code curettes
The SCHWERT Color Code handle is a proven system with interchangeable working ends. The handles are in fresh colors and designed in a comfortable diameter for fatigue-free work.
The Gracy sets / curettes have been color-coded according to the Zurich model. This defines on which teeth or tooth surfaces the respective instrument is used.
The perfect shape in terms of force transmission and sensitivity allows tactile curettage and scaling.
In modern, fresh colors, the type coding is not only a technical detail, but also makes the instrument appear friendlier on the floating table and in the hand of the operator. The connection between handle and thread has been validated and confirmed for RKI conformity.
In addition to the various commonly used universal, special curettes and scalers, SCHWERT has created three small, cost-effective prophylaxis sets. These are divided into the SCHWERT Prophylaxis Set "Universal". The SCHWERT prophylaxis set "Gracey". A SCHWERT prophylaxis set for DEEP SCALING. The SCHWERT Mini curettes have a 1st shaft that is about 3 mm longer, the fascial surface of the instrument is shortened to allow curettage especially subgingivally for narrow and deep pockets, as well as for narrow root surfaces.
With each of the three sets it is possible to process all quadrants optimally.
In addition to the steel curettes, a selection of curettes with titanium inserts is also available, especially for prophylaxis on the implant.
The SCHWERT Protector System has a universal silicone profile, and allows instruments to be easily deposited in the surgical tray after use. For instrument reprocessing, it is simply pressed into the profile, depending on the diameter of the instruments, and thus securely anchored.
In addition, the SCHWERT Protector wash basket and basket system has been equipped with silicone feet. This gives the trays a non-slip stand and improves stackability.
Suitable for standardized sterilization containers, it is available in 3 sizes for optimal volume utilization.
The meshes in the base and lid are very generously designed. Rinsing shadows are kept very low thanks to this design.
The meshes on the rim of the basket are small and round, thus increasing the stability of the basket. The risk of injury is reduced.
With the SCHWERT Protector System you increase your efficiency, because you can prepare your trays "process-oriented" and work accordingly.
You will meet the requirements of the RKI and the accident prevention regulations. It does not matter whether you prepare by machine or manually.

UNDER THE SIGH OF SWORD
Corrosion resistance, hardness, abrasion resistance, safety against fracture, mechanical load, thermal stress, workability and machinability, all these are material properties excluding themselves partly. In respact to these technical as well as to economical aspects, SWORD takes your best choice.
THE IDR KIT (Immediate Dentoalveolar Restoration) was created in conjunction with Dr. Jose Carlos Martins da Rosa from Brazil. Dr. Rosa is a world-renowned specialist as a speaker and trainer for this technique. His courses are very popular in many countries. The special technique developed by Dr. Rosa is the IDR technique, which is a one-stage implantation combined with the simultaneous construction of the buccal lamella. The special instruments required for this are compiled in the SCHWERT IDR Kit. For further information, please visit our website and download the product flyer or contact us directly.
