What do you think when you hear the word "precision"? The word is somewhat abstract, some find it boring. We at HORICO think it's just great. We are precision freaks, accuracy nerds, our miles are microns. You as a dentist or dental technician know this, you have precision at your fingertips. Because what patient wants to have an ill-fitting crown in their mouth? Exactly. With our precision instruments you can rely on a result that looks exactly as you want it to.
Realiable instruments for a relaxed smile
We have been manufacturing rotary instruments and separating strips with passion and tenacity for 103 years. HORICO has been a medium-sized family business for four generations. It all began in 1918 with the chief engineer Paul Hopf (of whom, by the way, there is not a single smiling photo - with great accuracy he showed the same facial expression in every photo, a very common practice at this time: serious and highly concentrated at work). Freshly returned from World War I, he was annoyed by crumbly sand from the sandpaper in his mouth when he visited the dentist. And thought to himself, "There has to be a better way." With great care, he invented the first electroplated separating strip and meticulously supervised its production in Berlin. This was followed by the production of diamond burs, and later by carbide instruments. Four generations later, you can still find the bosses of HORICO often in the quality control department, where they convince themselves of the quality of the diamond grain.
The extension of your fingertips: the Horico bur
Our target is the perfect tool. At the end of our production process, every single product is microscopically inspected by a quality expert. What you can also expect from us: Variety of shapes, durability and speed, in short: safety Made in Germany.
Precisely: We are happy to welcome you at IDS 2021: Hall 10.2, Stand M008.
It all began in 1918 with the chief engineer Paul Hopf. After a visit to the dentist, he was annoyed by crumbly sand from the sandpaper in his mouth. And thought to himself, "There has to be a better way." With great care, he invented the first electroplated separating strip and meticulously supervised its production. Today, HORICO offers a unique range of separing strips: diamond strips, steel strips and the famous STEELCARBO® strips. What started 103 years ago with a simple separating strip will be continued at IDS 2021: The successfully introduced strip holder system "Paul" for approximal contouring is being expanded (G354PAUL). The exciting thing about the "Paul" strip holder is that the dentist's hand is given a very secure guide to prevent it from slipping into the gingiva.
Dentists and dental technicians have precision at their fingertips. And what is the extension of the fingertips? These are our high-precision diamond burs. We produce rotary instruments with high cutting power from stainless steel and diamond. We offer a huge selection of shapes and grit sizes, all "Made in Germany": burs with FG and RA shanks for dentists, burs with H shanks for dental technicians.
Tungsten Carbide Burs
HORICO is one of the world's leading manufacturers of carbide dental drills. For the perfect drill, we gear blanks made of fine-grain carbide on the latest generation of gear cutting machines. In doing so, we incorporate our decades of knowledge about cutting edge geometries and concentricity. We offer bestsellers such as rose burs or Lindemann burs, but also specialities such as TiN-coated burs that last extra long and are very gentle on tooth substance.
Drilling, milling, and done? Not quite. Dentists and dental technicians put the finishing touches on the filling or restoration with the help of polishing. Polishers make the workpiece shine with a high gloss. This makes it harder for plaque and tartar to stick to it. HORICO offers many polishers for different materials. Particularly well-known are the LAMELLO® polishers, whose flap ring looks like a small hurricane from above. The flaps flexibly adapt to the curve of the workpiece. The LAMELLO® polishers last a very long time, are easy to use and reduce the time needed for tool changes, as they can reach almost everywhere.
Tungsten Carbide Cutters
Dental technicians work with many materials: CoCr, plaster, PMMA, splint material, etc. HORICO has a long tradition of developing the right toothing for each material. We‘re offering tungsten carbide cutters with and without coating. The black Horico special coating closes the small pores that are present even in the best carbide and puts a very hard protective layer over the cutting edges (HV approx. 3,300). The surface of the cutter becomes both harder, which significantly extends the service life, and smoother. The smoother surface allows the dental technician to work cooler and it reduces smearing and clogging. For CAD/CAM cutters, we also offer the black diamond coating, which is incredibly great at extending the service life.
Many dental technicians work on ceramics with the wonderfully flexible, easy-cutting SUPERDIAFLEX® disc or cut plaster models with the large plaster cutting disc from HORICO. A particular speciality is the SINTER DIAFLEX® disc: a sintered diamond disc that consists of diamond grit and bonding throughout and is extremely durable. Dental technicians will find a huge selection of diamond discs at HORICO: whether coated with diamond grit on one or both sides, rigid or flexible, with or without a toothed edge, with or without perforation - plus the different grit sizes and thicknesses... Over the decades, HORICO has acquired what is probably unique know-how in the production of diamond discs.
