TorqTech ultra-mini – small, smaller, smallest

Dietzenbach, Germany, February 2023. Morita has extended its popular TorqTech product range to include a new red contra-angle handpiece: TorqTech UM. The "UM" in the name stands for ultra-mini, as the new high-speed motor has a very small head. This allows it to provide greater flexibility in use and high performance values in excellent production quality.

TorqTech UM – ensures every jaw is freely accessible
TorqTech straight and contra-angle handpieces from Morita are renowned for their compact, ergonomic design and their small instrument heads. Morita has now systematically developed the TorqTech concept and extended the range to include a new red contra-angle handpiece with an ultra-mini head. During development of this solution for particularly confined jaw situations, challenges were overcome to achieve a high operating performance despite reduced head size. The new TorqTech UM (1:5 ratio) red contra-angle handpiece also impresses with the usual high production quality and durability, as with all contra-angles of the product range. It has been specially design to ensure better visibility and access to the treatment site, particularly in patients with small mouths and extending to the posterior molars. It is optimally balanced in the hand during treatment – as with all TorqTech instruments.

TorqTech UM - small, flexible, efficient and reliable
The design of the TorqTech ultra mini enables optimum access to the treatment site and extension of the field of view during treatment. When TorqTech UM is used with a short shank drill (max. 19 mm) it is ideal for treatment of children and patients with a small jaw or restricted jaw movement. The reduced head circumference, however, also provides the dentist with a clear view when using a standard drill (max. 21 mm), for example when working with a microscope. The optimised single-nozzle spray mist system of the contra-angle has a high range and ensures reliable cooling of drill and treatment site for safe operation.

We are inviting visitors to the drill bar: test the TorqTech UM at the IDS!
Morita would like to invite visitors to the IDS in March 2023 to test the new TorqTech ultra-mini (CA-5IF-O-UM) for themselves. A drill bar has been set up at the Morita exhibition stand especially for testing the contra-angle handpiece. Comparison with the other red contra-angle handpiece of the TorqTech product range (CA-5IF-O) in particular is amazing. The small head of the TorqTech UM with a width of 8 mm and length of 12.1 mm makes a really big difference in terms of accessibility and visibility.
