inSafe safety syringe system

Each year, about a million cases of needlestick injury occur in the medical field of Europe. Work-related accidents carry a high risk of infection, as every other syringe is contaminated with the blood of a patient and can transmit diseases such as hepatitis or HIV. Employee training and the use of safe products are among the most important measures of prevention. inSafe by Young Innovations offers effective protection, from the time a syringe is prepared until the syringe is discarded.

A flexible plastic cover surrounds the cannula every time the syringe is picked up and is pushed over the cannula immediately after the injection. That way, the syringe can be put down safely and reused during treatment as required. This completely does away with the risky practice of recapping.

Used needles are discarded in a sturdy container that allows the contaminated cannula to be removed with one hand. A special mechanism ensures that the cannula is removed without any contact when the syringe is inserted into the container. The container stores up to 150 cannulae, which are discarded through the dental trade and by specialised companies.

The inSafe syringe, which is made of metal and plastic, can be sterilised and is suitable for all injection cannulae. The cylindrical ampoule can be replaced during treatment, and the system is particularly economical thanks to the reusable components. Several starter kits are available with different cylindrical ampoule syringes.
